CALADESI ISLAND STATE PARK!
One of the Best Beaches in Florida
Caladesi Island State Park is one of the unspoiled, pristine barrier islands that line the Southwest coast of Florida. For the nature lover, it is a feast for the eyes. There are many species of water birds, and tropical plants galore surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water. It is located just west of Dunedin and north of Clearwater Beach.

Caladesi Island is home to the 600 acre Fl State Park by the same name. This wonderful island is only accessible by boat, either private boat or the ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park. The Caladesi Island Ferry provides the ferry service.
The west side of the island is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico and the east side by a mangrove swamp, providing refuge for many varieties of water birds. You'll find live oak hammocks and virgin pine forest on the interior. There is a 3 mile nature trail running through the island as well as a 3 mile kayak trail through the bay and mangroves.
