LIDO KEY SARASOTALido Key Sarasota has 3 fabulous beaches: North Lido Beach , Lido Key Public Beach , and South Lido Park. Of the three, only Lido Key Public Beach is a good swimming beach with gentle currents and lifeguards on duty.
North Lido Beach is great for taking a leisurely stroll on a very secluded beach and is the closest to St. Armand's Circle, a treasure for shopping and dining. South Lido Park is a wonderful spot for folks want to enjoy sunbathing, kayaking through the mangroves, cooking out on the grills and letting the kids play on the playground equipment.
Lido Key is only a short drive from Sarasota where there is a wealth of cultural activities. You can take pleasure in the Sarasota Ballet, enjoy the opera at the Sarasota Opera House, discover the Ringling Museum and enjoy a show at the Van Wetzel Performing Arts Center. Shopping and dining on elegant St. Armand's Circle on Lido Key is a treat with its European market style. There are many galleries, wonderful boutiques, sophisticated restaurants, many with outdoor seating and a great nightlife, all on the circle. While visiting Lido Key, make sure to take a little time away from the beach, and spend an afternoon at St. Armand's. Have lunch in one of the great restaurants - my favorite is the Columbia Restaurant and browse through the shops.
