PINE ISLAND FLCOMMUNITY OF PINELANDPineland on Pine Island FL is positioned on the western side of Pine Island.To get to Pineland you would turn left on Stringfellow Road a couple of miles from Pine Island FL center. Turn at the signs for the Tarpon Lodge and Pineland Marina.
As you travel down the winding road into Pineland you will pass the Pineland Post Office, one of the country's smallest.
Randall Research Center is also located here. Pineland is one of the primary sites of Calusa Indian shell mounds. The historic building below is right next to the Post Office. After passing the post office, continue down the road until you see the second facility of the Randall Research Center. Here, there is acreage with a museum and the Calusa Heritage Trail. You can take a very interesting tour of the Trail passing the Calusa Indians shell mounds.

If you'd like to come to Pineland on a vacation, you can stay at the lovely Tarpon Lodge. They have an excellent restaurant and bar.
The only golf course on Pine Island is Alden Pines Country Club located in Pineland. Single family homes edge the course. 
Pineland is a great place to come and experience as a day trip.
