PINE ISLAND FLORIDA
A VERY SPECIAL RETREAT
Pine Island Florida, affectionately called Florida's Creative Coast is only 30 minutes from Fort Myers, but is a world apart from the hustle bustle of the city. When you drive onto the island you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time to a different era.

There is a laid back, island atmosphere and is truly Florida's best kept secret. It is the largest island on the West Coast of Florida, measuring 17 miles long. It is protected by the barrier islands of
Sanibel,
Captiva,
North Captiva
and
Cayo Costa.
Because of it's location behind the other islands, and separated from the Gulf of Mexico, there are no real beaches on Pine Island. This island is the only island off Florida that has remained rural, with no traffic lights or high rise buildings. Perhaps this is the case because of the lack of beaches. But there's no shortage of water here. There is Charlotte Harbor at the north end, Pine Island Sound and San Carlos Bay. The fishing is great! Many folks who come to vacation here, decide they love the island lifestyle and end up moving here.

There is a strip mall with a supermarket, lighted tennis courts, a park with a pool, a ball field, a library, , medical and dental facilities, the island's primary fire station with EMS services as well as a few restaurants.
