and lots of fun things to do.
Sanibel Island Florida has a pristine, natural environment with a sensational soft, white sand beach to soak up the sun. There is a gently sloping beach on Sanibel, which is perfect for wading in the turquoise green water of the Gulf of Mexico - even for tiny tots! Along with it's sister islands,
Captiva
and
North Captiva,
this is an island paradise.

Getting To Sanibel Island Florida
To get on to Sanibel, you must cross over the Sanibel Causeway Bridge.

There is a six dollar charge to cross over the bridge to get onto the island. You pay at the new Toll Plaza.

Crossing the Causeway gives you a spectacular view of San Carlos Bay to the one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other.

There are beautiful palms lining the roadway and great sandy beach areas on both sides of the Causeway.

You can pull into one of these areas, sit on a beach chair or swim in the gorgeous water.

Once over the bridge, you'll notice boat ramps on the left side of the roadway. Tow your boat, put it in the water and go cruising in paradise. Just beyond the boat ramps is the Sanibel-Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce. They occupy a charming Key West style building. Make sure you stop in. They are a wealth of information.
