SOUTH LIDO PARK
South Lido Park is at the southern end of Lido Key on Ben Franklin Dr. It is a secluded 100 acre wildlife preserve on Big Pass with 640 feet of gorgeous Gulf front beach.

There are picnic tables, restroom facilities and lots of tall Australian pine trees, which provide shady areas so you can spend a wonderful, quiet day fishing, sunbathing and grilling. You can launch a kayak or canoe and paddle through the mangroves or around St. Armand's Circle. There are 4 bodies of water adjacent to the park: - the Gulf of Mexico,
- Big Pass,
- Brushy Bayou,
- and, Sarasota Bay.
You can catch a beautiful view of the Sarasota skyline and the Gulf of Mexico from the southern end of the Park. At the northern end of the Park you can take a stroll on the scenic nature trail. The Park's amenities are: - Picnic Tables,
- Grills,
- Playground Equipment,
- Nature Trails,
- Restrooms,
- Kayak Trails,
- Volleyball Court,
- and, Observation Tower and Decks.
Lifeguards are only on duty on weekends during the summer months. Because of the very strong currents in this area, swimming should be undertaken with extreme caution, and is probably, best left to a visit to the
Lido Key Public Beach
. It is, however, a great place to bring the kids to watch dolphins and manatees.
